CLAS 2117 From Utopia to Dystopia
3 hours; 3 credits
Exploration of the origins and development of the idea of the perfect society (utopia) including examples of ones that have gone terribly wrong (dystopias). Focus will be on historical, philosophical, and literary material. (Not open to students who have completed Core Curriculum 3117.) 2017-2018 and 2018-2019: Satisfies Pathways College Option requirement.
