Acquisition of the language skills, terminology, and procedures necessary to function in one or more specialized areas where Spanish is routinely used. Designed to familiarize students with common interactions within the professional environment and with problems arising fromcross-cultural misunderstandings. Intensive practice in speaking and writing. Reading and discussion of authenticmaterials related to the topic. Qualifies as a LOTE (Language Other Than English) course for Pathways College Option purposes.

Prerequisite: Spanish 2030W [11.12] or permission of the chairperson
