A historical overview of the values, institutions, and cultural heritage of Russia and East-Slavic cultures from their origins to the mid-twentieth century. Discussions and frequent writing assignments using a variety of approaches and supplementary materials from Russian broadcast and electronic media. Field trips to museums and cultural events. May be taken concurrently with or after Russian 2018 [4.8] or 2024. Qualifies as a LOTE (Language Other Than English) course for Pathways College Option purposes.

Prerequisite: Russian 1030 or permission of the chairperson.
