3 hours; 3 credits

Examination of philosophical and scientific theories about the nature and existence of the mind, and its relation to the brain, body, and environment. Philosophical examination of contemporary issues in artificial intelligence (A.I.), neuroscience, theories of consciousness, extended and embodied cognition, animal minds, emotions, perception, rationality and thought, mental causation and intentionality, and problems of personal identity.
