JUST 7714X The Midrashic Literature
30 hours plus conference; 3 credits
In-depth study of the origin, structure, methodology, and impact of Midrashim, the biblical exegeses by Talmudic authorities. Critical attention will also be given to the non-normative Aggadot of the Talmud that are, in essence, Midrashim.
Prerequisite: permission of the instructor.
