JUST 3042 Golems, Dybbuks and the Supernatural in Modern Jewish Literature and Culture

Classic works of Jewish literature and film featuring the supernatural from the medieval period to the present. Examination of these works? historical and social contexts. Exploration of literary concepts, including the ?uncanny? and the ?fantastic.? (Not open to students who have completed JUST 2539.)
