HNSC 2222W Food, People and Culture
3 hours; 3 credits
Lecture and laboratory activities explore food, eating patterns and dietary practices of individuals and cultural groups including ethnic, religious, geographic and ecological influences. Students will gain a deeper understanding of determinants that affect food choices and behaviors; emphasis is placed on self- reflection, awareness of cultural differences, values and beliefs in addressing the health of diverse populations. Writing intensive course.
Prerequisite: Health and Nutrition Sciences 1200 or 2210
