A course on the development of Christianity from its earliest days until the Protestant Reformation (ca. 1500 C.E.). With the help of historical, literary, musical, and artistic sources, we will investigate not only religious developments of the premodern world, but also how those developments had wide-ranging ramifications on the way that future world history unfolded.
