FILM 7005G History of World Cinema Inactive Course 60 hours; 3 credits Overview of the international development of cinema as a medium and art form from 1895 to the present. Focus on major film tendencies, aesthetic and political developments through a close examination of individual film texts. Emphasis will be placed on the major historical currents of each period and on changes in aesthetic, political and industrial context. Prerequisite: Matriculation in the M.F.A. in Cinema Arts or permission of the Director.
