ENGL 3526 Introduction to African American English

4 hours, 4 credits

Introduction to the historical development and linguistic structure of African American English presented through the analysis of its underlying linguistic structure; comparison of the major theories of African American English development, including its relationship to other dialects of American English and Caribbean creole languages. This course is the same as LING 3024 and AFST 3232.

Prerequisites: English 1010 [1].
