ENGL 3240 Global Romanticism

Anglophone Romanticism in conversation with writers from Continental Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Australia. Possible topics: Black Romanticism; indigenous response to the British/colonial canon; new anticolonial, antiracist readings of Romantic poetry in the academy. Fulfills Breadth and Depth Area Studies A requirement: Race/Ethnicity or Empire/Post-colonialism, or, alternatively, Period Courses 4: 1800?1900.
Prerequisite: ENGL 1010 [1 or 1.7]
