ECAE 7530T Diverse Classrooms in a Visual Culture 45 hours plus 20 hours of field experience; 3 credits Critical examination of the needs of contemporary students in a society dominated by visual images. Pedagogical strategies for analyzing visual messages in terms of diversity, plurality, and the impact of visual culture on curriculum and teaching. Discussion of the impact of images and artifacts from a variety of visual traditions on classroom interactions, personal identity formation, and learning. Prerequisite: matriculation in the M.A. degree program, Art Teacher.
