Readings in medieval literature with emphasis on literature in translation and on cross-cultural genres. Original languages may include Arabic, Old and Middle English, French, Ge'ez, German, Italian, Old Norse, Persian, and Spanish. Epic. Lyrics. Chivalric narrative. Life writing. Allegory. Mysticism. Drama. Fables.
Prerequisite: ENGL 1010; or corequisite ENGL. 1012.
