Introduction to interdisciplinary approaches to American experience, identity, and culture. The American Dream as it is constructed by political realities and racial inequalities; immigration and ethnicity in national life and labor; mass and popular cultures; the global and transnational dimensions of American society. Introduction to the methodologies of American studies and to the process of connecting disciplines in order to understand how American national identity has been formed. Starting Fall 2023 Satisfies Pathways Flexible Core Individual and Society requirement.
