SPCL 3150 Working with Families and Other Professionals
3 hours; 3 credits
Focus on the benefits of collaborations between educators and families/communities. Examination of strategies for creating positive relationships with families and communities and working with colleagues from other professions through a culturally sustaining framework. Emphasis on collaboration with general education teachers in inclusive settings. Strategies for productive interactions between special educators and others such as colleagues, employers, parents, service providers, professionals, and students. 20 hours of field experience
Prerequisite: English 1010
