SOCY 3604 Population and Society 3 hours; 3 credits Introduction to the sociological study of population, basic issues, theories, concepts, and measures. Historical and contemporary views; developed and developing countries. Population change, fertility, mortality, immigration; social demography, including race, religion, class, and gender. Prerequisite: SOCY *1101 [5] or SOCY 1200 or SOCY 1201 or permission of the chairperson.
