PHYS *1190 General Physics and the Computer 3 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory; 4 credits Introduction to basic concepts in electricity and magnetism with application to electronics and computer technology. Intended for students majoring in computer and information science. Prerequisite: a grade of C or higher in Mathematics *1011 [2.9] or in any mathematics course numbered higher than 1112 [2.9]; or placement in Mathematics *1201 [3.3] on the basis of the calculus placement test.
