PHIL 3142 Existentialism and Phenomenology 3 hours; 3 credits Phenomenological-existentialist critique of positivism, psychologism, and traditional humanism and the counter-claim to a deeper and more philosophical interpretation of man and his 'being in the world'. Readings from such philosophers as Husserl, Heidegger, Sartre, and Merleau-Ponty.
