Origin, early development, and history of jazz to the present. Required reading and listening. Not open to students who completed Music 20.4. This course is the same as Africana Studies 3237.
Prerequisite: Core Studies 2.2 or Core Curriculum 1130 [1.3] or Music 1300 or permission of the director.
