The history of decolonization and its legacies in the contemporary world. The first wave of decolonization in the 18th and 19th Centuries; roots of post-World War II decolonizations; the core phase of decolonization from the 1940s through the 1960s; the post-colonial experience and neocolonialism; decolonization in the contemporary world.
