ARTD 2340 Comics & Sequential Art

1 hour recitation, 1 hour lecture, 2 hours laboratory, a minimum of 4 hours independent work; 3 credits

Writing and creative visual planning for comic art. Visual breakdown of story ideas into pages and panels with dialogue and captions. Emphasis on skills of cinematic thinking and understanding the relationship between text and image in sequential art. Adaptation and editing of existing stories to the spatial and narrative constrictions of comic art.

Prerequisite: Art 2310
