FINC 7251X Financial Market Microstructure

45 hours; 3 credits

This course provides students with an understanding of the primary microstructural features of financial markets and offers the opportunity to test and practice various trading strategies. The focus is on the operations of exchanges, trading systems, and broker/dealer intermediaries. Students will gain a high-level perspective on the trading decision process, market structure design, and market structure regulation. The course utilizes computer simulations to recreate a trading environment, allowing students to experience typical challenges professional traders face.
