CLAS 4012 Prophecy, Oracles, and Seers 3 classroom hours plus conference and independent research; 4 credits The religious, historical, and social significance of prophecy at Delphi and other locations in the ancient world. Literary and archaeological evidence. Rites and festivals held at sanctuaries may also be considered. Emphasis on research methodologies. (Not open to students who have completed Classics 17.)
