SPAN 3929 The Image of Spain in Contemporary Spanish Culture and Society 2 hours, minimum of 2 hours fieldwork and excursions; 3 credits An on-site examination of the image contemporary Spaniards hold of themselves as expressed in literature, the press, and the arts. Unity versus diversity in geography, society, politics, culture, and language. Visits to museums, newspaper offices, and the parliament. Excursions. All written work to be done in Spanish. Qualifies as a LOTE (Language Other Than English) course for Pathways College Option purposes. Prerequisite: Spanish 3610 [17.50] or permission of the chairperson.
