PSYC 3840 Psychoanalysis: Theory and Research 3 hours; 3 credits Critical examination of the theoretical and empirical foundations of Freud's psychoanalysis. The unconscious, sex and aggression, psychological structure, the mechanisms of defense, "twilight phenomena" (dreams, fantasy, psychological errors, art, wit, symptoms), psychohistory therapy. Prerequisite: Psychology 9 or 2810 [30] or 2300 [30.2].
