SPAN 3565 Contemporary Cultures of the Rio de la Plata 3 hours; 3 credits An examination of the role of geography, history and demography in the development of regional and national cultures in Argentina and Uruguay. Focus on the role of immigration in that process, and on integration of immigrant groups into the traditional societies of this region, as represented in their literary works. Qualifies as a LOTE (Language Other Than English) course for Pathways College Option purposes. Prerequisite: Spanish *2010 [4] or permission of the chairperson.
