MUSC 3502 Copyright and Intellectual Property in Music

This course is intended to familiarize students with the complex contemporary law and practices regarding copyright and intellectual property law in regards to music. Since the rise of sampling as a creative methodology in the 1970s, legal structures and enforcement have shifted, with major ramifications to artists and music businesses.

Prerequisite: MUSC 3501 or permission of the director
