MUSC 3501 Music Business 3 hours; 3 credits This course will introduce students to essential information and skills needed to pursue a career in the music industry. It will provide students with a broad overview of today?s music industry, including the basic principles of marketing, publishing, licensing, distributing, selling and promoting music, the economics and technologies involved with distribution of recorded music, performance rights societies, agents, personal managers, trade unions, and contracts.
