Indigenous, European, African, and Asian roots of Latinx religions. Curanderismo. Christianity: Catholicism, Protestantism, Evangelicalism, Pentecostalism. Epiritismo. Afro-Caribbean histories and Afro-descendant traditions: Santería (Yoruba), Vodún, Abakuá. Islam. Judaism. Liberation Theology. Latinx Theologies. Mujerista Theology. Nones. Gender roles. Popular and cultural religiosities. Latinx diasporic communities.

Prerequisite: English 1010 or permission of the chairperson.
