FINC 3090 Financial Management in the Artificial Intelligence Era 3 hours; 3 credits This course introduces students to artificial intelligence and other experiential learning tools they can use to analyze financial management decisions of US corporations with publicly traded stocks. Students will learn core concepts of financial management and valuation tools and how to apply them to analyze the financial statements the companies have submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. Students will also gain exposure to computer science tools used to extract and analyze numerical and textual information in financial statements. The course mixes standard lectures, case studies, Q&A sessions with invited guests, team projects and presentations. Students are expected to work in teams and demonstrate their initiative for experiential learning of financial management using the real-world data growing fast in the digital economy.
