JUST 3020 Sex and Gender in Judaism 3 hours; 3 credits This course will explore the role of gender in classical Jewish texts from the Bible to the Mishnah, Talmud, Midrash, and the Zohar, with a particular emphasis on Talmud and Midrash. From the creation story to homoeroticism, gender ambiguity, and marital law, this course will cover a range of topics looking at biblical and rabbinic Judaism through the lens of gender theory. This course is the same as Women's and Gender Studies 3222.
