CHIN 2911 The Art of Tai Chi: Theory and Practice, Intermediate Level

2 hours; 2 credits

This course is a continuation of CHIN 1910. Students will learn the short form of Yang-style Tai Chi, along with daoyin and/or the Eight Brocades. Additionally, students will study the foundational Daoist text Laozi to deepen their understanding of the philosophical roots of Tai Chi. The course also explores the art of qi or Tai Chi as expressed through various forms, including dance, painting, and calligraphy.

Prerequisite: CHIN 1910 or the approval of the department.
