YIDM 2041 Yiddish Short Stories and Poetry 3 Hours; 3 Credits Introduction to East European Jewish culture through Yiddish short stories and poetry. Selected works by a variety of authors, including Shalom Aleichem, Isaac Leib Peretz, Shalom Asch, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Itzik Manger, Kadya Molodowsky, Esther Kreitman, and Miriam Ulinower, among others. Qualifies as a LOTE (Language Other Than English) course for Pathways College Option purposes. Prerequisite: Yiddish 1004 [4] or the equivalent.
