*The Pathways curriculum is typically 42 credits. However, the Finance major includes a course (MATH 1006) that also satisfies a Pathways requirement. Therefore, students majoring in Finance only need to complete 39 additional Pathways credits.
Students must complete three of the following Finance Electives: FINC 3340, FINC 3350, FINC 3377, FINC 3380, FINC 3390, FINC 5001, FINC 5310, FINC 5330, FINC 5350, ACCT 3021.
To declare a major in Finance, students must have earned a minimum of 30 credits and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or greater.
To graduate with a BBA in Finance, students:
• must earn a C or better in ACCT 2001; ECON 2100 and ECON 2200; ECON 3400 or BUSN 3400, and MATH 1231.
• must earn a grade C or better in all courses starting with FINC
• must not register in any advance or elective finance course without earning a grade of C or better in all prerequisites.
• may not take any specific FINC course more than two times (this includes INC, W, WN, WU, WF and ABS grades).
The four-year degree map is designed to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. Ideally, you should follow the four-year degree map as closely as possible, but you are free to make some adjustments so long as the prerequisite requirements are satisfied.
In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your academic plan with your advisor on a regular basis.
