The four-year degree map is designed to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. Ideally, you should follow the four-year degree map as closely as possible, but you are free to make some adjustments so long as the prerequisite requirements are satisfied.

Candidates for a B.S. degree with a major in Multimedia Computing must complete at least 60 credits in science and mathematics; 24 of these 60 credits must be completed in advanced courses numbered 2000 and above in the Department of Computer and Information Science. These 24 credits must be completed at Brooklyn College with a grade of C or higher in each course.

*Students must complete two of the following digital arts courses: ARTD 2811 Intro to Digital Art, ARTD 2812 Multimedia and Two-Dimensional Animation, ARTD 2820 Digital Video, ARTD 2821 Three-Dimensional Graphics and Animation, ARTD 3812 Internet Art and Design, FILM 1201 Intro to Production, FILM 2701 Film Editing, MUSC 3260 Intro to Music Technology, MUSC 3261 Electroacoustic Music I, MUSC 3262 Electroacoustic Music II, MUSC 3322 Techniques for Recording Music, TVRA 2420 Sight/Sound/Motion: Basic Production Theories and Techniques, TVRA 3861 Multi-Camera Television Production, TVRA 3871 Single Camera Production, TVRA 3951 Introduction to Radio Production.

In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review the prerequisite flowchart for Multimedia Computing (http://www.brooklyn.cuny.edu/web/aca_naturalsciences_cis/Prerequisite_Diagram_MMC_Java.pdf), Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your academic plan with your advisor on a regular basis.
