The four-year degree map is designed to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. Ideally, you should follow the four-year degree map as closely as possible, but you are free to make some adjustments so long as the prerequisite requirements are satisfied.

All courses in the Children & Youth Studies major must be completed with a grade of C or higher.

*Students must choose five courses from the following: CHST 2200, CHST 3110, CHST 3126, CHST 3130, CHST 3310, CHST 3320, CHST 3338/HIST 3336/WGST 3338, CHST 3410, CHST 3430, CHST 3510, CHST 3610, CHST 3620, CHST 3630, CHST 3700/SPCL 3700, CHST 4100, CHST 5100, CHST 5200.

**Students must choose two courses from the following: AFST 3335, CBSE 2002 or SEED 2002, ENGL 3189 or CASD 1717 or CASD 2231, HNSC 3170, HIST 3320 or HIST 3457/CHST 3120, PSYC 2210 or PSYC 3220 or PSYC 3240, PRLS 2005, SOCY 2400 or SOCY 2401, SPCL 3500.

In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your degree map with your advisor on a regular basis.
