Therefore, students majoring in Exercise Science (Fitness Professional) only need to complete 36 additional Pathways credits. The Exercise Science Fitness Professional Track provides a strong background in exercise testing and exercise training. As such, graduates should be well prepared to enter the fields of fitness and wellness, strength and conditioning, and will also have completed most of the prerequisite courses for various Health Related Professions (e.g., Physical Therapy). Students must earn a C or higher in both KINS 3281 and KINS 3285 to continue to HNSC 3290, HNSC 4200W, HNSC 4260, HNSC 4400, HNSC 4402, HNSC 4500, HNSC 4510, HNSC 4520, HNSC 4760. *Please note "HNSC 4510: Advanced Principles of Physical Activity: Cardiovascular/Pulmonary Training," and "HNSC 4520: Advanced Principles of Physical Activity: Strength/ Resistance Training," are only offered once a year, in the fall semester. The four-year degree map is designed to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. Ideally, you should follow the four-year degree map as closely as possible, but you are free to make some adjustments so long as the prerequisite requirements are satisfied. In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your academic plan with your advisor on a regular basis.
