However, the Chemistry major includes four courses (CHEM 1200, CHEM 2200, MATH 1201, and PHYS 1100 or PHYS 1150) that also satisfy Pathways requirements. Therefore, students majoring in Chemistry only need to complete 30 additional Pathways credits. The four-year degree map is designed to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. Ideally, you should follow the four-year degree map as closely as possible, but you are free to make some adjustments so long as the prerequisite requirements are satisfied. *Students must complete at least five credits from the following courses: CHEM 2700, CHEM 3420, CHEM 4530, CHEM 4550, CHEM 4570, CHEM 4571, CHEM 4572, CHEM 4580, CHEM 4581, CHEM 4620, CHEM 4640, CHEM 4720, CHEM 4760, CHEM 4761, either CHEM 4780 or 4790. A minimum of 15 credits in advanced courses in Chemistry must be completed at Brooklyn College with a grade of C- or higher. In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your degree map with your advisor on a regular basis.
