We have designed this four-year degree map to help you take the right courses in the right order so you can graduate in four years. It also helps you distinguish what courses qualify as Pathways courses, or Major courses, or General Elective courses. DegreeMaps are a suggested way through the major, but students may have alternate routes depending on their individual situations. *All students must complete the following HIST 3000-level requirements (at least 21 credits), including one course in each of the following areas:
a) European history: Between HIST 3206 and HIST 3290
b) Transnational and comparative history: Between HIST 3310 and 3390
c) United States history: Between HIST 3410 and 3490
d) African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American, and Middle Eastern history: Between HIST 3510 and 3590
Within the specific geographic regions listed above, students must take one course in the Pre-1500 era: HIST 3001, 3002, 3003, 3015, 3021, 3022, 3023, 3024, 3025, 3030, 3031, 3033, 3040, 3044, 3050, 3070, 3090, 3100, 3101, 3102, 3103, 3310, 3317, 3323, 3352, 3530, 3532, 3536, or 3560.
In conjunction with the four-year degree map, you should review Degree Works, and the Brooklyn College website, for an approved list of courses in your major. Overall, it is best to review your academic plan with your advisor on a regular basis.
